Alohahola began with a trip to Hawaii that changed everything. Our founder, Yang, fell in love with the island spirit after just one visit, leading him to return again and again to explore local neighborhoods and eat his way through hidden roadside stands.

He realized it wasn’t just about the food—it was about the genuine sense of Ohana, where a simple meal makes everyone feel like family.

With years of kitchen experience, Yang wanted to bring that same unpretentious soul back home to Virginia. Alohahola is our modern take on the Hawaiian plate lunch, built to be both comforting and exciting. Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, you’re always part of our Ohana.
